Frequently Asked Questions About Physiotherapy

When should I see a Physiotherapist

See a physiotherapist if you have persistent pain, limited mobility, or injuries affecting daily activities. They help with post-surgery recovery, chronic conditions like arthritis or back pain, and prevent future injuries. Physiotherapy also improves posture, strength, and balance, benefiting athletes, older adults, and those with neurological conditions.

What Can I Expect From My Initial Physiotherapy Assessment?

An Exercise Physiology Initial Assessment at Fortify Movement & Health will include a thorough discussion about your diagnosis, medical history, previous and current injuries, health conditions and treatment based on your medication. We will also conduct an AxIT strength and movement assessment to provide a clinical postural and analysis of your body to assess risk management and improve your everyday life.

This full assessment information is important in order to prescribe an individual exercise program that’s tailored and designed for your body. Then, with your certified physiotherapist, your goals are discussed and a treatment plan is designed and developed for you. Then, depending on your  needs, you’ll begin an individualised program

What is the difference between an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and a Physiotherapist?

A Physiotherapist specialises in diagnosing and treating acute injuries (less than 3 months old) through hands-on techniques and early rehabilitation.
